Jonas Kobberdal - Associate Producer
Jonas Kobberdal is a New York-based actor originally from Oslo, Norway. He is a graduate of the prestigious NY Company at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts and the founder of Copper Valley Productions. Career highlights include joining Yonder Window Theatre Company as a Company Player, developing and performing plays for English Language Learners with the Educational Theatre of New York, performing and training Shakespeare with Bard City led by RSC's Owen Horsley, competing in the NY Winterfest as part of Let Go by Michael Aguilar, directing and producing the Short Film "DISTANT", and performing in several world premieres. Recent credits include Enoch in F.O.M.O. by Juan Pablo Mendive Off-Broadway at Theatre Row as part of the United Solo Festival and George in Sorry, Wrong Number at Theatre for the New City with the Educational Theatre of New York.
After training in Norway at Romerike Folkehøgskole and "Forstudium Teater," a Foundation Course in acting at the Oslo School of Music and Culture, Jonas moved to New York in 2016 to study at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Here, he played Leontes in The Winter's Tale and Dr. Givings in In the Next Room, or the Vibrator Play for his graduation series. After graduating with an Associate Degree, he was invited to join the prestigious Academy Company, an additional year where outstanding students build an ensemble and, as a Company, perform in a year-long season of productions. Jonas's unique approach to acting, which combines intense emotional depth with a keen sense of physicality, has been a hallmark of his performances. Credits from the Academy Company include Pastor Manders in Ibsen's Ghosts, directed by Jonathan Bolt. Falstaff, John of Gaunt, Old Clifford, and more in The Richard Project, a new take on Shakespeare's history plays, adapted, written, and directed by RSC's Owen Horsley. Bob Hope in the world premiere of the new original musical Star-Spangled, written and directed by Tony-nominee Douglas Carter Beane, with music by Lewis Flynn and Choreography by Joey Pizzi. David Hinkley in A People's Guide to History in the Time of Here and Now, a new play by Rehana Lew Mirza, directed by Lucie Tiberghien, founder of Molière in the Park. Herman Glogauer in Once in a Lifetime, directed by Jonathan Bolt, and Monkeyfat, Uncle Probst & Locksmith in Wedekind's Spring Awakening, directed by Barbara Rubin.
Jonas is passionate about theater's power to connect people and about sharing that magic with the world. He is proud to have found his artistic home at Yonder Window and feels beyond excited to be starring in KAFKA FOR BEGINNERS, in what feels like a true full-circle moment with the company.
