While at Emerson, Josephine also began to dive deeply into therapeutic study writing their honors thesis Breath in the Experience of Healing and Creativity. Jo has also developed devised work including La Storia Di Colapesce with Trinacria Theatre Co. in Sicily, Night Witches (the true story of Soviet female fighter pilots during WWII) first performed in an airplane hanger in rural Virginia then premiered at Dixon Place in NYC. She played Hermia in The Dream Project 2.0 with Yonder Window and is currently a Company Player. Josephine’s teaching spans voice/yoga and movement in private practice in NYC as well as in schools and abroad. Jo is also a reiki practitioner and runs a queer-centered, sliding-scale, trauma-informed practice in Brooklyn. They are also part of the queer bodyworker collective Bodies For Bodies. Josephine’s work as a performer, educator and bodyworker all deeply inform one another. They love to infuse each practice with radical care for self and community and believe deeply in the importance of trauma/nervous system-informed education and health care.
