As a freelance aerialist and modern dancer based in NYC, Maia Ramnath has worked with many dance and circus artists including Yonder Window Theater Company, Pat Catterson/Nine Lives Dance, Fly By Night Aerial Dance Theater, Hybrid Movement Company, Surface to Air Dance, the Neo-Political Cowgirls, the Merce Cunningham apprentice company, and others. Maia creates multi-disciplinary aerial-dance-theater-video assemblages as Constellation Moving (solo work)/Constellation Moving Company (collective projects), which have been presented at venues including NYC’s Theater for the New City, Dixon Place, The Muse Artist in Residency program, and the Dzul International Dance Festival in Campeche, Mexico. Maia teaches aerial silks and rope at Vital Climbing Gym, and formerly at Circus Warehouse. Maia is also a writer, teacher and historian.
